Great machine!

I just got this machine a week ago as an early Christmas gift from my hubby. I didn't purchase it from Amazon, because we found a Thanksgiving-week deal at Jo-Ann fabrics, so I picked it up there for about $200.
I am very happy with this machine. It has 66 stitch functions (search google for an image "list" of these, like I did), 3 buttonhole options, and a twin-needle option. I have used about 10 of the decorative stitches already, and I'm incredibly impressed with how well the machine handles them.
This machine is quiet enough that I can have a conversation with my husband while he's 15 feet away, all without either of us raising our voices. It has a smooth feed and doesn't shake (like my last machine did, even in tip-top shape!). It is sleek-looking and it doesn't weigh much, so I can carry it without feeling as though my arm is going to break off.
The reverse stitch is easy to use (the button is right by the needle, so you can hold it as you are feeding the fabric). Bobbins are simple to wind on this machine, and it even has a self-threading needle, but I prefer to thread by hand. I've had no problems here, it works beautifully, but I kind of think it's over-kill as I have no problems with threading my needle. However, I can see how this option may be very helpful to people with unsteady hands.
It's computerized, so it adjusts the thread tension automatically, which is one of the big reasons I was interested in a newer Singer model. With past sewing machines, I've had trouble with thread tension despite constant fidgeting and following the manual's explicit instructions.
Oh, and the bobbin! It's got a drop-in system, which makes it so much easier to thread. No more taking pieces out of my machine to put the bobbin back in! I LOVE THIS MACHINE!
But seriously, I love this machine. I have only had it for a week or so, but I have done a LOT of sewing (Christmas gifts!) and I am in looooooove with this machine. I am absolutely 100% satisfied, and you probably will be too. |

| It works great NOW. I purchased this machine last month and had similar issues with the straight stitching. I had changed the foot from the original one that was on it. I had never seen a closed foot like that before so I put on the one I was familiar with that came with the accessories. I tried everything to get the stitches right, including changing the machine's needle, increasing the tension, decreasing the tension, and rethreading the machine. When I was just about to give up and throw it out the window, I put the original foot back on. That did the trick! It works fine now, and I have used stitches I've never used before, like the scallop stitch to decoratively hem a sundress and the overcast seam stitch which looks professional! I have been sewing on Singer machines for 42 years and was very hesitant to purchase one of these "new fangled" computerized models. Lots of plastic, but lots of fun! I'm enjoying playing with all the stitches! I will never give up my 30 year old machine and since I started giving sewing lessons to my daughter and her friend, now they can sew together. I would definitely recommend this machine - great price for great quality. |

| My wife thourghly loved this machine and its ease of use, she is a very extensive sewer. Just recently I have picked up a generic cover for the unit (It does not come with a cover). |
Love it! Second machine.

I was sooo frustrated with my Singer Simple constantly jamming and having bobbin issues I almost gave up sewing. After about a year of off and on, I bought this on a black Friday sale for $199 at JoAnn's. LOVE IT! Just drop in the bobbin. I've done several projects, including sewing apparel and quilting, and it has never, ever jammed. I have had thread break once after almost doing a whole quilt (Coats thread) and never w/Gutermann.
I LOVE THIS MACHINE! It really did give me confidence, as I know the problem was not all me. Very quiet, smooth, and steady. |

| I purchased this product thru Amazon, since my local retailers carry only the low end sewing machines, which didn't seem to fare well in the product reviews I found online. Previously, I had been using a Singer Touch and Sew Model 775 purchased over 30 years ago and it has seen a lot of duty. There are also no repair centers close by, so when my old machine developed multiple problems, I decided to buy a basic machine that could straight sew, zigzag, and make easy buttonholes - but not the bottom of the line machines. I couldn't find a lot of reviews on the model 7467, but the ones I did find were positive, so this seemed like a good fit eventhough I wasn't interested in all the fancy stitches. Unfornately, the machine performed well only on zigzag - the straight stitch was horrible. I tried various needles, threads, and tension settings, but once I had tried sewing a little heavier weight fabric, I couldn't get a quality straight stitch regardless of the adjustments. I returned the machine to the vendor, who promptly refunded my money - but it was a $55 expense with return shipping, insurance and restocking. I know they don't make them like they used to, but this machine was a piece of junk. The vendor said this is the first complaint he had on this model, so maybe mine was just a lemon. |
