My Viking Sewing Machine balls up the thread on the back side of my material?

just me! asked:

Every time I try to sew something My sewing machine just balls up all of the thread on the backside of the material. What could this be caused from?

    the tension on the thread isn’t adjusted properly

    You need to adjust the tension on your bobbin. There should be a pressure screw on the bobbin case that will adjust the tightness. If there is no screw try your manual for instructions on how to adjust bobbin tension. If you dont have a manual, just put the machine on the internet and do a search for the manual and you will probably find it.

    If the bottom of the fabric is all balled up, then the top tension is too loose. Tighten it up to approx 5 on the dial and try again. If this fails see a mechanic.
