Another Embroidery question?

August 21st, 2009 · 2 Comments

Crissy A asked:

Ok, Not to long ago I asked if embroidery was hard. I was thinking about buying my friend’s machine that she had for sale. Needless to say, I didn’t buy the machine. It was a Singer. She also has a White that she uses. When comparing the 2 machines on the same design, the White did 100% better.

Please let me know if what I am looking for is possible and what it is called.

I would like to get a machine that you can hook up to a computer. I really do not wan to by the cards with designs on them. I would also like something that produces a decent product. As I mentioned the White was so much better and it wasn’t too complicated. I would like to get the White, but I think they are no longer making that model. I need something tha tis user friendly.

Can any suggest any machine that is kinda like that? Is there any useful websites out there for beginners who would like to start this hobby?

Thanks for your help!!
Crissy

    Embroidery Machines

The Brother is a nice starter machine. It only embroiders and uses the cards you are talking about. They sell at Wal-Marts.
If you want something that hooks up to the computer then go to a Sewing center that sells name brand machines. They can demo the machines and usually include free lessons.
Thats what I did. I bought a Husqvarna Designer SE and love it. I started with a Brother machine.
    Hope this helps,

    Sewing Machine

I have a Brother Innov’is 4000D which I absolutely love and would recommend. It is easy to use and the one I learned on – and believe me I have overused it, but never had a problem that couldn’t be handled by the tech at the sewing centre where I purchased it. I use a USB or flash drive, to download designs to it and have never had an issue – cards are NOT required. I would recommend purchasing your machine new as it will then be under warranty if you have any problems or make a few “first-timer” mistakes and need a tech or a teacher. The sewing centre where you purchase it will also show you how to use it.

There are lots of websites with information on how to do machine embroidery, but you may find the most help from Yahoo! Groups where the members openly discuss their problems and solutions such as:
These Yahoo! Groups also offer free designs for members in their files.

There are also alot of websites that you should check out and will find free designs to download:
